Pressure Relief Valves (PSVs) are vital in sustaining a safe working environment, providing a critical safety role in the prevention of process plant over pressurisation and the release of hazardous fluids.
It is therefore necessary that the valves are managed correctly so that they can function on demand and a duty holder can demonstrate their continued availability.
The most effective way to manage PSVs is a Risk Based Approach, which depends primarily on the effective, accurate management of data. Plant Integrity Management have produced PIM Relief (v3.8), a software product aimed specifically at the management of PSVs. PIM Relief is cloud based, allowing the software to be accessed securely from any standard internet browser.
In areas where a connection is unavailable, offshore for example, a standalone client PC version is provided on Panasonic Toughbooks that synchronise with the cloud whenever a connection is available. This allows those in remote areas to also utilise PIM Relief.
The software has been set up with a strong emphasis on usability, from data input to RBI Analysis and re-scheduling of test dates.
PIM Relief captures the entirety of the PSV Management workflow cycle, from the testing and recording of overhaul results through certification (creation and reporting) to RBI Analysis and the rescheduling of test dates. The input data remains the property of the client and can be provided on request. Additionally, the software can also interface with any other MMS such as Interface Management with Maximo, either by spreadsheet uploads or more direct read/write functions. This is a specific client requirement
