Graduate Structural Engineer

As a result of PIM’s continuing success and strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a new Graduate Structural Engineer to join our growing team.

PIM’s business vision is to develop and mentor our engineering talent to become industry leading consultants. Working on a variety of projects in both Oil & Gas and Renewables in the UK and overseas with robust training support and potential for hybrid working, this role offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

THE ROLE

  • Support the development and delivery of Structural Integrity Programmes.
  • Maintain key Integrity Management documentation and digital tools.
  • Contribute to the preparation, delivery and evaluation of inspection activities.
  • Participate in the risk assessment of structural components and anomalies.
  • Complete manual hand calculations in accordance with industry codes.
  • Prepare and deliver work in line with company and client procedures and processes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems.
  • Engage with the client and effectively communicate risk.
  • Interface and collaborate with PIM colleagues across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to travel to meet the client’s needs, including willingness to work offshore if required.

THE CANDIDATE

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil, Structural or Mechanical.
  • Sound and demonstratable understanding of engineering principles.
  • An awareness of Asset Integrity Management.
  • Experience, academic or otherwise, of relevant industry codes (ISO, BS, AISC, etc).
  • Proficient user of MS Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Previous industry experience would be considered an advantage.

  • Desire to work towards Chartered Engineer status with a recognised Engineering Institute.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work within the UK.
