Senior Structural Engineer

As a result of PlM's continuing success and strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a new Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil, Structural or Mechanical
  • Demonstrable experience leading the execution and delivery of consultancy services
  • Sound understanding of engineering principles and application of relevant industry codes (ISO, BS, AISC etc.)
  • Knowledge of regulations applicable to the UKCS
  • 5-10 Years’ industry experience
  • Actively working towards or attained Chartered Engineer status with a recognised Engineering Institute
  • Offshore experience would be considered an advantage for this role

Role Responsibilities

  • Key contributor to the development and delivery of Structural Integrity Management Programmes
  • Maintain key Integrity Management documentation and digital tools
  • Manage the preparation, delivery and evaluation of inspection activities
  • Lead the engineering assessment of structural components and anomalies
  • Complete manual hand calculations in accordance with industry codes
  • Take ownership of business development activities, including developing proposals, seeking opportunities in the industry and managing key clients
  • Prepare and deliver work in line with company and client procedures and processes
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and development of innovative solutions in response to industry challenges
  • Ability to manage and understand activity budget and planning processes.
  • Engage with the client and effectively communicate risk
  • Interface and collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines
  • Ability to travel to meet the client’s needs, including willingness to work offshore if required
  • Contribute to the development of junior engineers, sharing experience and setting a good example
