Structural Engineers / Senior Structural Engineers
Due to the growing demand, we have immediate vacancies for Structural Engineers / Senior Structural Engineers to be based at our offices in Blackburn, Aberdeenshire.
Consideration will also be given to those wishing to work a hybrid or remote working pattern.
THE ROLE
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to;
- Define and implement Structural Integrity Management best practice policies and procedures for the Client.
- Define, implement and manage the Client’s Structural Integrity Management Strategy / Manual, (Risk Based Inspection [RBI], Planned Maintenance Routines [PMRs], etc.) including
- Philosophy to address the strategic management of the integrity of structures in late life.
- The development of 5 year / 10 year structural inspection plans.
- Provide expertise to support the client in the development and maintenance of the Client’s strategies and procedures employed to assess structural integrity degradation mechanisms.
- Implement authoritative review process across all Client’s assets and provide assistance and direction in review process.
- Act as key interface with SIEs, IEs, OIEs and others to review existing inspection processes with a view to implementing efficiency and cost improvement opportunities.
- Assist Client’s engineering teams in Corrosion Risk Assessment and Reporting.
- In consultation with Client’s Technical Authorities and Discipline Engineers, develop prioritised Risk Based Inspection plans aligned with identified structural degradation mechanisms.
THE CANDIDATE
Desired Skills and Experience
- Incorporated Engineer or equivalent qualifications and demonstrable experience in the field of Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent.
- Accredited Bachelors' or Honours degree in structural or civil engineering.
- Structural Engineer - Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience.
- Senior Structural Engineer – Minimum 6 years demonstrable experience and working towards chartered status.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to travel offshore if / when required.
